Salad Haters. They’re out there. You may not know this, but the world is filled with Salad H8ers.
A Salad Hater is someone who judges someone else for eating salad when in reality, they are just jealous that they have not yet acquired (yes, the art of salad making is a skill) bamf salad making skills (like myself).
To me, the term salad can be defined as a random plethora of food tossed together to create a meal, usually served in a bowl, and topped with balsamic vinegar. My lunch for example, is the perfect example of a bafm salad.
My lunch was indeed the salad pictured above. It’s been that exact salad for about a week now and it still hasn’t gotten old In the mix: 2 handfuls of mixed greens, a big blob of cottage cheese, a handful of black beans, a hard boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, and cuc. Not pictured: balsamic vinegar & salsa!
Anyways, I got into a debate the other day about salad. Apparently some people think salad isn’t “filling,” but I beg to differ! You just need to make sure you are adding the right things to make it delicious and nutrient dense, like eggs/beans/cheese for example!
Rewinding a tad to my breakfast. Look what I discovered…
Stevia Packets! I am so used to drinking my coffee black that I never even think to add a sweetener. The other day I was at a coffee shop and was asked if I wanted sugar or stevia. I had to think twice about it, but I decided to test out stevia and I’m glad I did.
What is stevia?
Stevia is an all natural sweetener that comes from plants. It is zero calories and often used as a sugar replacement.
I found these guys at my local grocery store and am excited to add some sweetness to my morning oatmeal. Change it up a bit, right?
Anyways, I just realized that I never mentioned to you that I had plans to go to Chicago this past weekend for my cousins Bat Mitzvah. Better late than never? Here are a few pictures from Jenna’s party
Me and Mullet Boy aka my brother
Sister and Sister Boy
It was a really fun weekend. Have I told you how much I love my family? The sister flew in from Boulder (and I already miss her) so it was nice to reunite with my best friend. Good thing I just purchased a plane ticket to Boulder in October
Time to get my homework on.
PS- Don’t be a salad hater.
Are you a salad lover or hater?
How do you take your coffee?
