Want to know what makes me happy? Being able to go to yoga every single day. As you know, I have a pretty awesome senior schedule with a nice chunk of free time. Lots of free time = more time to do Lee things, like yoga! Whether I am doing a Vinyasa Flow, hot yoga, or a yoga inspired body pump class, I LOVE it.
Practicing yoga is a peaceful place for me. I love that it focuses on balance, strength, and movement. The more I do it, the more I love it. I can go in pissed off and stressed and walk out of the studio with a new light. I am even becoming more flexible and can almost touch my toes 😉
Anyways, today I did a strength training type yoga class with free weights. There were lots of pushups, lunges, squats, and even burpees. It kicked my butt. I love this class because it still incorporates yoga poses and flows. Despite the fact that I don’t normally eat protein meal replacement bars/powders, I refueled with a Vanilla Fit Frappe Protein Smoothie after class!
Remember back in June when I went to Boulder for the FHBC Conference? (which reminds me, I never posted my recap on all of the sessions…whoops) Well, Big Train was one of the sponsors and sent all of the bloggers a few flavors to try! I blended a packet of vanilla with 3 handfuls of ice and a cup-o-water. Topped with a sprinkle of raw oats.
Then I slurped her down with a crazy straw. How old am I?
Who am I kidding, I ended up eating it with a spoon because I like my smoothies/shakes thicker than thin. I think the spoon makes an illusion that I am actually eating something, rather than just drinking.

-I also really enjoyed the flavor. I really hate when protein drink mixes are extremely sugary, but this one wasn’t too bad. It may be because I diluted mine with more ice than recommended, but overall the flavor was delicious.

-confusing serving size (It gives a break down for both an 8oz drink and for a 16oz drink. I am still confused if I was only suppose to eat half of the pack or the full pack?)
Overall, I am still skeptical about protein drink mixes. I’d rather eat a chicken breast or beans to refuel my protein. I did however, really enjoy this frappe. It was a nice treat after an intense workout 🙂
