I ran the Twin Cities Color Run Today. Holy Mostacholi is right! It was a fun and interesting race indeed. All kinds of different people: girls in men’s underwear, children with pigtales, men in tutus. I asked Blake to sum up the race in 3 words: Hot, Humid, and Colorful. Yes, there was an excessive heat warning today, good thing our start time was at 8AM…seriously.
What I liked about the race was the energy. I’ve never been to a race at 7:30 in the morning that was such high energy. Everyone around us was happy, there was a DJ, people were smiling, music was blaring. There was positive energy everywhere. I also like how every kilometer the runners were sprayed with color dust. I got nailed in the face during the blue section and was spitting blue for the rest of the race
What I didn’t like about the race was the size. There were three different start times plus about 5 waves per start time. In total there were about 19,000 people. Holy hell. I guess I don’t blame the Color Run for adding more time slots, there was such a high demand to run this race!
This was Blake and I post race. Neither of us brought ours phones so we didn’t snap any photos before hand.
On a more foodie note…look what Liney and I have been hard at work baking all weekend. We tested a few recipes for a party we are catering/planning next weekend…Gluten Free Vanilla Cupcakes with Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting. I’d say these turned out pretty dang well
What races have you done this summer?
Chocolate or Vanilla?
