Do you need a boost of vitamins or minerals? This blueberry spinach smoothie is packed with vitamin-c to help boost your immune system and keep your body feelin’ good!
Serious Immunity Boosting Blueberry Smoothie
Say “I” if you’ve had the sniffles at least once this winter or if you have crazy allergies. ME ME MEEEE! I’ve actually been really lucky in the sick department (knock on wood) and have only really had one minor cold. I hope I didn’t just jinx myself. I like to credit my active lifestyle and the fact that I’ve been eating copious amounts of vitamin c. It’s really not hard to do, especially if you throw everything in a smoothie like this one. Slerp.
There are a handful of things you can do to boost your immune system when you are starting to feel a cold coming on!
- Relax Stress can take a toll on your body. If you can feel a cold coming on, do everything you can to reduce your stress. Take a yoga class, delegate at work, and grab a book!
- Sleep Giving your body time to rest and heal is one of the best things you can do if you feel a cold coming on. If you can, increase the amount of sleep you get and make sure it’s quality sleep!
- Don’t Smoke Smoking isn’t the best for your help in general, but if you are around tobacco smoke, it really slows down your immune system.
- Feed Your Body Get veggies, fruits, ginger, and water in your body immediately! Your body needs fuel when it’s down for the count.
A Sniffle-Stopping Smoothie
I can’t help you get more sleep or stress less, but I can help you feed your body when you’re sick! Like I said above, one of the best ways you can prevent or cure a cold is to eat as many immune-boosting foods as possible. We’re talking…
- Citrus is packed with vitamin C which is an immune-boosting vitamin!
- Berries are known to be a great immune boosting fruit because they are rich in vitamin C and flavanols (which are full of antioxidants).
- Leafy greens are packed with magnesium, folate, iron, and calcium. All great vitamins and minerals to help you knock that cold to the curb!
- Ginger not only cleans out your adenoids because of its spiciness, but it also has a chemical called sesquiterpenes which can help fight the flu!
Thus- I threw everything in my blender and whirled away. A smoothie isn’t a smoothie without some Greek yogurt to smooth things out (and add protein!) and a frozen banana for good measure. No added sugar is necessary (ever). Plain Greek yogurt is definitely my favorite flavor to add to smoothies.
Talk about a party in your mouth. Seriously, this smoothie is on point. That citrus, though. In general, this smoothie is a great healthy snack and an easy way to get a serving of fruit AND vegetables in. We all know we could use a little more of those in our lives.

Thank you so much admin for uploading such amazing content with us your blog is really helpful for me.
Great Efforts! Thanks for posting this useful information with us.
Excellent work. I recently discovered your blog and have enjoyed reading your posts. I’m looking for fresh postings to help me learn more. Thank you for providing such useful information about artificial intelligence.
I loved the concept but as a committed UK Vegan could not easily find a suitable cruelty-free alternative to the Greek Yoghurt.
it seemed to work well with additional pre-frozen, pre-blended banana(nearly the same consistency as the 100% banana version of a cruelty-free ice-cream!) instead of the dreaded dairy suggestion!
it still taqsted Geat! (nb. the ginger really gives it “zing” lol!)
Do you have any suggestions please?
incidentally, your site truly is a Godsend! Thank you!
Inspirational! I have a horrid cold and have just made this smoothie with what I had in the fridge – I used fresh grapefruit, frozen spinach, berries and no fat greek yoghurt…it’s great! I feel like the goodness is being poured in with every mouthful!
Yum!Thank you for sharing and I hope you are feeling better!
Yum! No colds yet but always good to know of a good smoothie recipe to kick it in the butt when it does happen 🙂
These pics are GORG!
Thanks, love!
This is just what I need right now! 🙂
There is sucralose (artificial sugar) in this yogurt – just FYI 🙂
I didn’t know yoplait removed all those artificial ingredients from their yogurts, usually I pay extra for the organic brands, but I might need to give these a try. And love the idea of adding the berries, vitamin c, and leafy greens to a smoothie to stay healthy during the winter. My husband actually just said he wasn’t feeling himself so maybe i’ll whip this up for him ; )
He will love this! You can’t even taste the spinach 🙂
Currently obsessed with putting OJ in my smoothies since I made my orange quinoa smoothie last week. Definitely gonna give this one a go, because I’m not a fan of being sick all winter 🙁
Pinned!
orange QUINOA. Genius. I’ve never added quinoa to a smoothie. THIS IS A MUST.
I am so over the sniffles, like come on already! My mom keeps telling me to drink O.J, but Im not fond of it by itself! Its a different story, however, if its added to this beautiful smoothie 🙂
You’d totally love this smoothie!
Seems simple enough but sounds delicious!
One portion of smoothie has not only vitamin C but also vitamin K, A and B2, it’s great to avoid illness.
It’s also very easy to replace greek yoghurt by low-fat yoghurt if you are on a low-calorie diet
Hey Joan! Thanks for sharing that great info 🙂 Hope you love the smoothie!
I really like this recipe, I even calculate nutritional values of the smoothie 🙂
Hahaha, it hasn’t caught to me yet, but better to be safe than sorry with the cold! I love the idea of putting Greek yogurt and tons of blueberries and spinach into it to fight off the viruses!
Fingers crossed for you that you don’t get sick this year!
Eating my smoothie (with a spoon cause I’m a spoon and bowl person…) as I write this! I’m convinced my daily green smoothie has helped keep the sniffles away but you know I’m sick everyday anyway haha. So glad to see yoplait came out with a greek version and of course I love that it’s #minnesotamade 🙂
Alllll about thick smoothies. #wearethesame
I loved yoplait when I was younger! When they came out with that whipped line I was obsessed. Love yogurt in smoothies for a great added protein source.
WOOOO!!! I was the same way as a kid. We always had every flavor in the fridge 🙂
YUM! I am all about packing my smoothies with immune boosting ingredients! Gotta stay healthy so I can keep doing all the things I want and need to do!
AHHHHHgreed. Can never have enough vitamin C 🙂
