Hello from Milwaukee! I am making a pit stop in Wisconsin to see Mark before we head to Chicago to visit with my parents for a few days.
Florida was SO MUCH FUN! I’ve got a post coming in a few days with tons of photos from my event with Tropicana, but it was so great to see Davida and meet some other fabulous women (hey Julie and Julia!) who do the same thing as me! I decided to fly Brooke down with me to Florida so we could shoot for a full day on Wednesday and enjoy the sunshine. I’m telling you, I feel so much more inspired with a little sun kissed skin and blue skies. I am so lucky that Brooke is a nurse (by day and photographer by night!) and has a flexible schedule and was able to come down to Florida with me. She makes my Style Friday posts really fun because she helps me feel NOT like an idiot in front of the camera. I’ve also nailed my no teeth smile recently, which is HUGE. You can LOL at me, but ever since the Olson twins invented the smirk face in 2002, it’s been a major goal for me to attain 😛 The next logical step after the no teeth smile is obvi the smirk face.
So this tank dress. I have it in two colors — green and heather grey and i’m super tempted to get a third. It’s $56 from Nordstrom and you just can’t go wrong with this item of clothing! First and foremost- you can wear a sports bra with it. If you’ve been following FFF for a while, you know that I don’t wear normal bras…so if I’m going to wear something nice, it’s going to have to work with a sports bra. Second, THIS DRESS LOOKS GOOD ON EVERYONE. It has a little bit of ruching around the tummy area, which I really love! You know the feeling you get after you’ve eaten chicken wings and beer? No one would ever know you had that feeling with this dress! It hits you in all the right places. Last, it’s so versatile! Dress it up, dress it down, wear it plane, whatever you want! This tank dress is such a great article of clothing to have on hand to mix and match with the rest of your wardrobe.
I wore this to the brand dinner with Tropicana (look #2 in this post) and decided to style it 2 more ways to show you how versatile it really is. Take a lookski at my looksies.
This is my favorite look out of the three. Surprise, surprise. All you need is a chambray and your favorite pair of gym shoes to complete this laid-back, adorable outfit. I love that you can pretty much wear this anywhere — to the grocery store, on the plane, to a day date, to class. My chambray was a whole $24 from Target and I just got these Under Armour Slingflex’s from Finishline. They’re officially my first pair of white shoes and I’m scared shitless (for lack of better terms) to wear them anywhere because I don’t want to get them dirty. It’s been like a month and so far so good.
Dressy Day Look
I love this look so much because it only takes two additional pieces to class it up! I finally got myself an green army jacket after years of wanting one. I found a TopShop one at Nordstrom for a really great price. I have broad shoulders and I was surprised the 4 fit me so well because usually everything is tight in the shoulders. I paired the dress and jacket with my favorite shoes so far this year — the Sinzeria Sandal by Lucky Brand (also from Nordstrom). Can’t get enough of these peep toes! Such a great segue shoe into Spring.
Cool Summer Night
My last look for this tank dress is one I’m excited to wear this summer! I paired a strappy pair of leather sandals with a crew neck sweater and a cute boho cross-body bag. All things you probably already have in your closet!
I’d love to know how you would style this tank dress…because let’s face it, I’m about to wear this every day for the next 6 months.
