This festive and delicious peppermint protein shake combines dark chocolate protein powder, a banana, finely ground cocoa powder and a touch of peppermint extract to wow your taste buds and leave you feeling satisfied and reenergized!
Protein smoothie turned decadent treat? I think yes.
I’ve been really into smoothie drinking ever since I started my recipe creation partnership with Designer Whey (through FitFluential) about eight months ago. Each month I create four recipes for DW, two of which are smoothies (yes, I am compensated). They sent me about eight giant jugs of Designer Whey Protein Powder to work with, so I literally put it in everything.
To top the smoothie, I made homemade whipping cream, by simply whipping cream with my hand mixer. Then, I shaved some dark chocolate on top for a little more OOMPH!

Sounds delicious! What brand of protein powder do you use. There are so many kinds I just end up not buying any. I don’t do anything like marathon running but would like a powder to add to smoothies when drinking them as a meal.Sounds delicious! What brand of protein powder do you use. HEALTHY BANANA SHAKE Look so yummy … wanna try it!!
Made the Choco-Mint smoothie, but used fresh mint (about ten big leaves) in place of the extract. Gave it a fabulous – and very minty – zing!
Super yummy – thanks.
Do I have to add the banana? I’m allergic to them. What could I substitute it with?
Unfortunately banana is the base of this smoothie. The only other thing i can think of is ice!
This looks absolutely amazing! Will this make me lose weight? X
how much can you taste the banana in the chocolate peppermint smoothie/shake?
The chocolate and peppermint definitely have the most apparent flavor, but since it is a banana base you can tell it’s in it!
I am not a fan of protein shakes. I do not like smoothies at all. I think its a texture thing. Not real sure! I have Whey vanilla protein. Not sure what to do with it. Do you have any suggestions? This Dark Chocolate thin mint sounds really good. But I am afraid to spend the money on Chocolate protein and only use it once, like I have the vanilla.
