Add any of these easy on the grill recipes to your menu this summer and you won’t regret it! There is nothing like spending time outside cooking healthy food on the bbq.
I have Italian blood in my veins, so it wasn’t a surprise to my family when their eight year old daughter got up at 5:30AM to cook everyone breakfast before school. We’re talking pancakes and sausage for EVERYONE. Though I’ve aways loved being in the kitchen, grilling is something I didn’t learn how to do until I was out of college. Like most girls (or people for that matter!), I’ve always been intimidated by the grill. It was something my dad handled growing up and I just never learned how to do it before I left the nest. Then, I started a food blog and realized grilling is a crucial part of the business 😛 So? I learned and it was the best thing I ever did.
Now, the moment it’s grilling season I’m outside ready to go. I think one reason I enjoy grilling is that I absolutely love being outside. Give me sunshine, a cold beer, and a swim suit top and I’m one happy camper. I love how easy it is to find affordable meat or veggies and turn them into a healthy meal in minutes! Seriously, for easy weeknight dinners in the summer you can’t beat the grill. I love marinating chicken breast in the morning and knowing that after I’m done working I have a flavor-packed meal waiting for me in the fridge. Side note, one reason I am super excited to live with Mark (among many other reasons, of course) is that we both share a love for grilling. Last week there were terrible storms in Minneapolis, but that didn’t stop us from grilling up a beautiful ribeye for dinner. YUM.
So, todays post is dedicated to all of you who love to enjoy preparing tasty food on the grill. Those of you who soak up as much vitamin D as you can during the grilling season by getting creative with corn on the cob or pork chops. I’ve pulled together some of my “must make” recipes from some of my favorite bloggers, along with some of my favorite grilling recipes from Fit Foodie Finds. HAPPY GRILLING.
