giving thanks 2011

Please tell me you’ve already ooed and ahhed over yesterday’s Thanksgiving Breakfast? If might want to click HERE to check it :)
My Thanksgiving morning started off with a mega workout. Working out is actually the last thing I wanted to do, but I knew I would be kicking myself if I skipped. SO…I decided that if I ran really really fast…it would be over really really fast. Hence…these stats:
4 Miles.
31 minutes and 2 seconds.
I did an interval run that looked like this: 30 second sprint at 9.5 with a 30 second recovery at 6.3. I am not sure how I did it because normally I am slugging with a full minute recovery, but I was feelin’ it. *don’t stop me now*
Anyways…Thanksgiving is always held at our house in Milwaukee. Remember last year?? This year was quite similar except we had more people! 30 in total plus 4 dogs and a puppy! Oh I love my little Sasha Bug…
Our family eats Thanksgiving Linner (lunch/dinner), so the Turkey was out of the oven by 1PM.
This year we decided to serve our Thanksgiving Linner buffet style. My mom did a fantastic job this year. I wish I could have came home earlier to help…but I can only claim the Roasted Balsamic Veggies in the lower right hand corner…

One of my favorite parts of the day is when my dad says “grace.” His words are filled with wisdom and they really make me thankful for my family :)

Here is my first round of linner. I had to try a little bit of everything: salad, sauerkraut, sausage, turkey, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables.

I definitely went back for a few more helpings of veggies and taters. Mmmmm Mmmm good. I am already looking forward to leftovers :)
After dinner, my two youngest cousins Ben and Andy broke the wishbone wishing for another year of happiness and thanks, of course. And probably a few other things :) They are so stinkin’ adorable and spitting images of my brother.

Who by the way, has the most outrageous mullet I have ever seen. That’s what high school kids do right? These guys played outside all afternoon.

Look at those ups!
Dessert was also very overwhelming (in a good way). We had Homemade Apple Pie, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Fresh Fruit, Coffee Cake, and a Pear Blackberry Crumble that I made.

Here is what my first plate (of multiple) looked like. I had some innards of the Apple Pie, a small slice of cheesecake, a scoop of my crumble, and some fruit. I may have overdone the dessert. oops :/ Everything was just SO GOOD. My Aunt Lisa is a complete genius in the kitchen. Her pumpkin cheesecake was ridiculous and not to mention, “an experiment.” *must get recipe*

Today I want to do 2 things: Go for a detoxifying run (it’s 54 here today!) and take advantage of Black Friday deals! Ugh, I also have a butt ton of homework to do before the weekend ends. Aarrr.

Have a lovely day off bloggies!
