HBD Fit Foodie Finds!

Another year another candle on the cake. Fit Foodie Finds turns 6 today and I can’t even believe it! 6 years ago today I started College Foodie Finds a food and health blog for college students. I was your Bill Nye The Science Guy of healthy eating for college kids on a budget. THANKFULLY, I quickly realized that I loved creating healthy recipes and workouts more than educating people on what a carb is. The “college” was dropped and turned into a “fit” and the rest is history!


Really though, taking a second to think about the past 6 years gives me the shivers. I’ve done some really amazing things and I’ve also gone through some pretty deep shit and guess what? I’ve shared every step of the way with YOU. I mean, how could you forget that time I broke my foot in Mexico? Or that time I hired my first team member? Or all the dang oatmeal recipes I’ve posted? This blog has turned into so much more than a blog over the past 6 years. It’s a place where I share my life with millions of people I don’t know with hopes to inspire each and every one of you to be and do what makes you happy. To have the confidence to make your own choices, travel the world, be a damn good cook, and drink wine without feeling guilty. 

I create content and tell stories around food, fitness, and lifestyle through photography and video…at least that’s what I tell people I do :P Whatever you want to call it…the only thing that matters is I love every second of it. I love that I am in charge of my time, of who I spend my time with, of the world I get to explore, and the way I feel on a daily basis. Being an entrepreneur and growing a business from the ground up is hands down the most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life, but that’s the beauty of it. FFF has some major changes/additions coming in the near future and I CAN NOT wait to share with you. 

Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting me and reminding me that I am enough. For allowing me to make a difference (even if there’s ads on my site), to eat pancakes at least twice a week because I’m testing recipes, to travel to amazing places around the world and share my experiences with you, to listen to me complain about the size of my boobs, and to work with my best friends by my side every day.   


PS: I had this long drawn out post written about the election and how I’m feeling hurt and defeated after Hillary’s loss, but decided to scrap it all. There’s so much negative energy flying around on the news and internet that I decided I just didn’t want to add to that. While the election didn’t turn out how I had hoped, the only thing I can do at this point is move on with an open mind and heart. We need to give good and hope good is given in return. Remember that you can do and be anything you want to.
