The day Trader Joe’s stopped carrying peanut flour was like the worst day ever. I remember Jenny (I stalked her at the time) and I each went to our local TJ’s and bought what they had left. People looked at me like I was cray, but you guys know my love for anything peanut.
What is peanut flour you may ask? Peanut flour is essentially defatted peanut butter. They suck most of the fat out of the peanuts and grind up what’s left to create a flour. This means that peanut flour is low in fat, high in protein, and great for baking. I like to refer to it as natures protein powder. Peanut flour is also referred to as: peanut butter powder or PB2. I’m sure you’ve heard/seen PB2…it’s the same thing! PB2 is packaged in a peanut butter jar and if you ask me- is a rip off. Actually- I give them a giant high-five because they totally saw room in the market and jumped on it. Because they are one of the only brands on the shelves right now (thanks TJ’s), they can up-charge.
Where do I buy my peanut flour then? AMAZON, duh. I buy everything in bulk because it’s cheaper that way. The exact product I buy is the Protein Plus Roasted All Natural Peanut Flour (32 oz). The reason I LOVE this product is because the only ingredient is: dun dun dunnnnn —> peanuts! PB2 contains added sugar and salt, which to some extent probably makes it taste better, but I’d rather have the opportunity to add my own sweetness. I did want to note that if you are purchasing PB2 via Amazon, it’s about the same price is the Protein Plus (Go Amazon!).
Sorry for the long rant. I just want all of you to love peanut flour as much as I do 😀 I wanted to pull together a peanut flour round-up of delicious, lower in fat recipes! Can I just say, that I had an extremely difficult time finding recipes for this round-up! No fear, they are all Fit Foodie approved.

Hi!
The link from your gluten-free peanut flour bread above just goes to a picture. How can I find the recipe?
Hey just wanted to let you know that Trader Joe’s is carrying peanut butter flour again! Rejoice!!! We still get it online as it’s slightly cheaper and comes up a much bigger bag, reducing the packaging we use up a lot (since we burn through peanut butter flour so fast, haha)
Also, wanted to point out that you say that PB2 and peanut butter flour are the same thing but they’re not really due to the added sugar in PB2 (as you mention further down).
Thanks for such a great round up of recipes, can’t wait to try some of these!!
OMG NUH UH!!!!!!!!!

Another source of peanut flour
I just bought a bag and I am OBSESSED! I love sprinkling it on banana slices or apples and I’ve started sprinkling/stirring it into dishes as they cook so I get that peanutty taste without loading up on peanut butter. It’s such a great ingredient and I’ll be honest- sometimes I just eat it by the spoonful and it’s like I’m making peanut butter in my mouth? That sounds so weird omg but hooray peanut flour lovers!
Can’t wait to whip up some of those pancakes!
WOO!! So glad you are loving peanut flour. My favorite thing to do is mix some into vanilla Greek yogurt. OMG SO GOOOOOOOD.
Hi there,
I just recently became a consultant for Theive Life foods and received a can of peanut flour in my last order. I was looking for some recipes to use it in and came upon your blog. Thanks for all of the great ideas? Have you ever use Thrive Life peanut flour before? I think it is a fairly new product, here is the link to the information about it:

I’m obsessed with peanut flour, I eat it daily! I’ve been using PB2 because I can get a huge container at Costco, but I’m glad to know I have another recommended option now that doesn’t have any sugar or salt added. Definitely giving it a try, along with some of these recipes!
I learned so much from reading this, I had no idea peanut flour had so many uses and was so good for you. Glad I have Amazon Prime.
Woohoooo!! Amazon prime is my best friend. Seriously, amazing.
You can buy Protein Plus peanut flour for less ($11.04) than on Amazon. I am not sure if it is OK to post a direct link (is it considered advertising?) to the site, so I’ll put it like this, without naming the site: http://bit.ly/ProteinPlus-peanutflour
If this is not OK, please delete the comment.
Thanks for sharing!
My love for peanut flour is as big as my love for you. Okay, fine, you win.
😛 Can you guys get peanut flour down under?!
I used iherb because Amazon sucks to Aussies.

Just bought some peanut flour (thanks for your link!!) and can’t wait to start baking up a storm. I think I’ll start with the pancakes…

I cried when TJs stopped carrying Peanut Powder as well. Maybe they will bring it back? We could start a petition!!
