Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. La la la la la la la la la la laaaaaa.
Why yes, the Sound of Music is still stuck in my head. I sang, and when I say sang I mean repeated…that phrase over and over again this morning while I was redesigning my blog! Speaking of redesign, you like? My goal over winter break was to migrate my blog from Blogger to WordPress. Andddd let’s just say I vetoed that. I just know that if I migrate, I am going to be glued to my computer screen for like a week straight trying to figure things out and I’d rather enjoy my break out in the real world. To be honest, I have had a great experience with Blogger thus far, so why change something so good? eh?
So What is new? I designed my header in Adobe Illustrator. I thought about paying someone to professionally design it, but I do have a year of design school underneath my belt :) I also gave FFF a new color scheme and new buttons (<----------on the left hand side). I went back and forth between an illustration and an actual photo, and decided to go with the Illustration. At least for now.
Anywho. I have a mini [random] Christmas Day Recap for you. First and foremost. Check out this drippy, amazing, Crunchy Sweet and Salty Peanut Butter I made for my aunts and uncles! You know how I feel about homemade gifts. *love*

Best. Gift. Ever…if you ask me.

Made with a-little-bit-a elbow grease and a-lot-a-bit-a love.

Christmas day was a lot of fun. The Mom, Sister, Selina, and I started off with an at home circuit workout, which consisted of a lot of squats, lunges, pushups, and abs. It ended as a dance party, which was completely necessary. Lunch that followed looked like this:

Romaine Lettuce + Tomatoes + Artichoke Hearts + Hard-boiled Egg+ Balsamic Vinaigrette

The grandmother had something special for Selina (who is also gluten free) and I. GLUTEN FREE PASTA MIX! We (she) took it upon ourselves to make some homemade gluten free pasta…

We used my grandmother’s vintage pasta machine. SO COOL. We haven’t cooked it yet…but I am excited to try! The basis of the pasta mix was made from white rice flour. We will just have to see if g/f pasta can live up to the norm!

Also, I could not believe the weather yesterday. Almost 50F in December! This was the first time in years that we didn’t have a white Christmas :/

I obviously wandered outside for a little bit…

Why is it that flowers still make me happy even when they are brown and dried out? It’s just something about them.

Few that was a long one. Time for me to go pack up my Cuddle Duds and hand warmers. We are leaving for the UP (Upper Peninsula) tomorrow morning for our Annual Hersh Family Ski Trip :) Boy do I hope there is more snow in Michigan than in Wisconsin. We are currently rocking the brown grass trend. Stay tuned for some Upper updates!

What is the best homemade gift you gave/received this year?

Any fun plans for winter break/New Years?
