Hi team! Happy Friyay. This weekend is going to be really fun. Team Fit Foodie and I (and my sister!) are running the Get Lucky 7k. Well, I am running the 7k and Emily and Linley are running the 14k. We were hoping for some beautiful weather, but it’s looking like highs are only on the 20’s. HALP. I wish I had a green snow suit because that’s definitely what I would wear. Usually I have a rule where I don’t run outside unless it’s 40ºF or warmer, but I guess this is the price you have to pay when you sign up for a March race in MN.
Mark flies in Saturday night and will be here for the next week. Hells to the yes. Mark is an actuary and is in full-swing busy season, working 80+ hours a week. I’m excited for him to be here so I can help alleviate some stress by free lunch delivery straight from the Fit Foodie kitchen :D We’re going to the MN United FC home opener game at TCF Bank Stadium (University of Minnesota’s stadium) Sunday afternoon with the rest of the fam, which will also be really fun! Thinking we will make a pit stop at the Surly Brewery for a beer and lunch first. YAY.
Today’s post is all about the workout shoes I am currently rotating between. I get lots of questions on my Instagram Stories as I’ve been sharing more of my outfits and workout gear. This is not sponsored (clearly– I’m sharing 4 different brands!).
I want to start off by saying that I prefer a lighter-weight shoe when working out. I wouldn’t consider myself a minimalistic shoe lover, rather I like a less structured shoe that’s lighter and soft.
I am in love with the Flyknit 2’s by Nike! I’ve work Nike’s Frees before and I’d say these are very similar, but have a little more structure to them. This is a super breathable and flexible shoe. I’ve done both circuit training and running in these and they’re great for both! They are considered a running shoe by Nike, but in all honesty I normally wear all of my shoes for multi-use :D They are a bit pricer, but super comfortable and really good looking. Love the ombre.
The adidas Tubular Shadow is more of a casual shoe, but like I said above, I wear my shoes for multi-use. I wear these with jeans and out and about a lot, but I’ve also worn them to workout if I know I’m doing something low impact. They’re super lightweight and breathable. Linley has a pair of these as well and we both heart them and sometimes wear them on the same day so we can match :D
Sooooo this is my third pair of Hayasus in like a year and a half. Love them much? While I don’t workout in these often, I do prance around town in them as a casual shoe. They’re actually a dance shoe, so they go higher up on the ankle with great support and mobility. I love how lightweight and flexible they are. You can really jam them in your suitcase when you don’t think you can pack anything else (not that I’ve done that before :P).
I am such a sucker for Under Armour Shoes! I got my first pair of UA Gemeni’s in 2015 and have been a huge fan ever since. These Slingflex’s are very similar to the Gemeni’s, which are still my favorite shoe to this day. The Slingflex is super lightweight and molds right to my feet. They are very cushiony, which I am a huge fan of . I’ve both ran and lifted in these shoes and <3 I highly recommend these for all types of workouts. Plus they have like 10 colors, which is awesome! Since mine are white, I have to be very careful with them. That’s why these are specifically my “indoor shoes.”
I would love to know what kind of shoes you guys are wearing right now– both the brand and make! Leave them in the comments below and tell me why you love them and what you wear them for!
