Start with Idaho Potatoes

For this baked potatoes in foil recipe, you can use either Idaho or russet potatoes. Rinse them under warm water and pat dry.

Next, rub each potato with a generous amount of olive oil. This will help crisp up the skin. Then, season with salt and pepper.

Oil & Season

Individually roll each potato in a piece of tin foil. This will help lock the air in and cook the potatoes faster.

Roll in Foil

Preheat your grill to 450ºF. Then, cook baked potatoes in foil for 45-60 minutes or until you can easily pierce them with a fork.


Slice baked potatoes in half and use your fork to fluff the flesh. Top with your favorite toppings such as: butter, salt, pepper, and chives.
