Avocado Toast Recipe - 3 Ways

Ingredients

Mediterranean Avocado Toast

  • 1 slice sourdough bread we used a bakery sourdough loaf
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ small/medium avocado pitted
  • 6-8 thinly sliced red onions slices
  • 1 teaspoon za’atar seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon feta crumbles
  • 1 slice fresh lemon

Caprese Avocado Toast

  • 1 slice sourdough bread we used a bakery sourdough loaf
  • ½ small/medium avocado pitted
  • 4 medium tomato slices
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 4-5 fresh basil leaves

Egg on Avocado Toast 

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice sourdough bread we used a bakery sourdough loaf
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ small/medium avocado pitted
  • 2 slices white cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

Mediterranean Avocado Toast

  • Place a piece of sourdough bread in the toaster. 
  • When the toast is golden brown, remove from the toaster and drizzle the toast with olive oil. 
  • Scoop the avocado meat out of the avocado and place it on the toast. Use a fork to smash the avocado with a fork and evenly spread the avocado smash out on the toast. 
  • Spread the thinly sliced red onion over the avocado and sprinkle the za’atar seasoning and feta over the avocado. 
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the avocado toast and enjoy. 

Caprese Avocado Toast

  • Place a piece of sourdough bread in the toaster. 
  • Remove the toast from the toaster when golden brown. 
  • Slice the avocado into 3-4 slices. Place one avocado slice on the very edge of the toast, then place a slice of tomato layered over the avocado, followed by a slice of mozzarella. Repeat until the toast is layered with avocado, tomato, and mozzarella (how many slices of each ingredient used varies by how big your slice of bread is). 
  • Drizzle all of the ingredients with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. 
  • Top with fresh basil and enjoy. 

Egg on Avocado Toast 

  • Bring a small pot of water to a boil. 
  • Soft boil the egg by adding it to the water and boil for 7 minutes. 
  • While the egg is cooking, place sourdough in the toaster and toast until golden brown. 
  • When the egg is done, run the egg under cold water and carefully peel the shell of the egg. Set the egg aside. 
  • Drizzle olive oil over the toast and then smash the avocado on the toast with a fork. 
  • Place cheddar cheese on top of the avocado and then set the soft boiled egg on top of the cheese and cut it in half. 
  • Sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning over the toast and enjoy.
