  • 1 large orange sliced
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon whole allspice
  • 4 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in the Instant Pot.
a homemade bowl of warm apple cider garnished with cinnamon.
  • Place the cover on the Instant Pot and turn the pressure valve to seal.
  • Set the Instant Pot to high pressure and set the timer for 20 minutes (it will take the Instant Pot about 15 minutes to build pressure and for the timer to start since there is so much liquid).
  • Quick release pressure and uncover the Instant Pot. Use a potato masher or a big wooden spoon to mash up all the apples, oranges, and lemons until it turns into an applesauce-like consistency.
A homemade bowl of soup with a wooden spoon in it, made with fresh ingredients and flavors reminiscent of homemade apple cider.
  • Let the apple cider mash mixture cool (this takes about an hour).
  • Once the apple cider mash is cool, pour it through a small sieve, catching the apple cider in a large pitcher or container.
  • Taste the apple cider and add additional sweetener if you would like.*
  • Store apple cider in the refrigerator and enjoy cold or hot!

Tips & Notes

  • Storage: Store apple cider in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
  • Freezing Instructions: For longer storage, transfer apple cider to freezer-safe container(s). Freeze for up to 3 months. We like to make apple cider ice cubes (for a little pop of flavor in fall cocktails) or pour into silicone soup cubes (the perfect amount for 1 cozy mug of apple cider). Let thaw and enjoy cold or heat until warmed through.
  • Sweetness: Once the apple cider is made, give it a taste! If it isn't sweet enough, add a teaspoon of pure maple syrup at a time until it reaches your desired sweetness.
