Favorite Turkey Sandwich Recipe

At Fit Foodie Finds, we love sandwiches, and this turkey sandwich recipe is our favorite. It's loaded with veggies, turkey, cheese, and a homemade herby mayo you'll make on repeat.

Ingredients

  • cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 8 slices sourdough bread we used bread from a bakery
  • ¼ cup stone ground mustard
  • 12 turkey slices
  • 1 green tomato sliced
  • ½ red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup alfalfa sprouts
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • 4 deli pickles sliced
  • ½ large cucumber sliced
  • 6 sliced Havarti cheese
  • 4 large pieces romaine lettuce

Instructions

  • First, prepare the herby mayo. Add the mayonnaise, mint, dill, cilantro, lemon juice, and salt to a small bowl. Mix to combine.

  • Spread the herby mayo on one piece of bread and stone ground mustard on another.

  • Begin by stacking the turkey on top of the mayo, followed by a slice of tomato, red onion, ~¼ cup of sprouts, sliced avocado, pickles, cucumbers, Havarti cheese, and one piece of lettuce. Top with the piece of bread with mustard.

  • Repeat step #3 until all of the sandwiches have been made.

Notes

  • We highly recommend using freshly baked sourdough bread from your favorite bakery. If that is not an option, use your favorite soft bread.
  • Turkey can be substituted with your favorite deli meat.
  • Havarti can be substituted with your favorite deli cheese.
