Servings: 4
- 2 lb. skin-on salmon filets 4 ½-lb. filets
- ¼ cup homemade cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
- 4 fresh lemon slices
Preheat the oven to high broil and spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray or line the pan with parchment paper.
Place the salmon filets onto a baking sheet and pat the salmon with a paper towe to remove any excess moisturel.
Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of cajun seasoning over each salmon filet and pat the dry rub into the salmon. Drizzle oil over the salmon filets.
Place the salmon into the oven and bake for 8 minutes or until the dry rub turns a char color. Do not walk away from your salmon. 8 minutes is perfect in our oven, but make sure to check it starting at 5.
Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Serve the salmon with a lemon slice and squeeze the lemon slice over the salmon before serving.
- How spicy your salmon is will depend on what cajun seasoning you use. We used a homemade cajun seasoning that is Minnesota Nice (not super spicy). If you use a store bought spice mix, add 1-2 teaspoons of brown sugar to the mix to tone down the spice if needed.
