I seriously love waking up to a creamy, flavorful bowl of overnight oats that is both nutritious and delicious. This apple cinnamon overnight oats variation is one of my favorite flavors to date!

With a quick 5-minute prep the night before, you’ll mix oats, juicy shredded apples, and a dash of cinnamon—then let your fridge handle the rest.

What’s in this apple cinnamon overnight oats recipe?

  • Rolled Oats: The base of your creamy breakfast.
  • Fresh Apple Chunks: For that crisp, fruity bite.
  • Cinnamon: A dash for warmth and flavor.
  • Chia Seeds: For a fiber and omega-3 boost.
  • Almond Milk: Or any milk of your choice.
  • Honey or Maple Syrup: Your natural sweetener.
  • Vanilla Extract: A splash for added aroma.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Apple Sauce: use apple sauce instead of shredded apple.
  • Spices: Nutmeg or allspice can join the cinnamon.
  • Milk: Dairy, oat, or soy milk can be used.
  • Sweeteners: agave, honey, and maple syrup work!

amp up the protein!

If you’d like a little bit more protein in your oats, you can always add some Greek yogurt (which would not be vegan, but still delish!) or even a scoop of your favorite protein powder. Check out our protein powder recommendations HERE.

I think I overdid it on oatmeal for breakfast (and late night snack) for awhile…but it’s starting to sound yummy again! And I’ve never had it cold..so….

Breakfast…um, only my FAVORITE meal of the day! There are so many good options that I don’t really know what to choose as a favorite! Recently, though, I’ve been loving banana ice cream with homemade seedy granola. Delicious….

If I could make a dessert into breakfast, it would definitely be chocolate cake. Or banana bread. I’m pretty open minded (and open mouthed). 😉

I know what I’m making for b-fast tomorrow! OO are the BEST.

Breakfast is absolutely my favorite meal of the day. It is literally the reason I get out of bed in the morning…because I am THAT excited to eat. I usually make the same thing everyday – six egg whites, whole wheat english muffin with almond butter – but on the weekend I spice it up with pancakes, french toast, and fried eggs. Adding this to the rotation. Thanks!

I LOVE breakfast! Lately I’ve been making smoothies for breakfast because they’re easiest to take to work with me, but sometimes I do take oatmeal and this sounds like a perfect one to bring. Those caramelized apples look to die for!

I eat breakfast everyday!! When I’m not hungry yet, I just wait an hour or so until I am and have my big beloved breakfast then (if my schedule allows that)
My favourite breakfast for the last couple of weeks (or months already?) is omelette! Stuffed with cheese, and sometimes veggies, spinach or ham, with a side of a biiig salad. I like to switch up the seasonings every time so I don’t get bored. Curry, paprika, cumin, different herbs, you name it. I yet have to try a sweet omelette. Too bad I can’t put cheese in that one though!

Oh yes, let’s cook for each other in return 🙂 I cook for myself every day, sometimes twice (breakfast and lunch/dinner). I am totally a whole egg girl and promote this 100%!! Usually I use 2 eggs in an omelette, somtimes even 3, depending on the other ingredients that I have. Liquid egg whites in cartons are not common here, and I wouldn’t ever waste an egg yolk! (Like I try not to waste any food)

You totally copycatted me with an oatmeal recipe today….I’m telling my mum. Just kidding, I’m telling Margie (davici’s mum).

I’m going to eat my words and say one of my favourite breakfasts is cold pizza. Legit.
