Unlock the secret to the perfect fall breakfast with our apple cinnamon overnight oats recipe. In just five minutes of prep time the night before, you’ll combine oats, apple chunks, and a sprinkle of cinnamon, then let the fridge do the work.
I seriously love waking up to a creamy, flavorful bowl of overnight oats that is both nutritious and delicious. This apple cinnamon overnight oats variation is one of my favorite flavors to date!
With a quick 5-minute prep the night before, you’ll mix oats, juicy shredded apples, and a dash of cinnamon—then let your fridge handle the rest.
What’s in this apple cinnamon overnight oats recipe?
- Rolled Oats: The base of your creamy breakfast.
- Fresh Apple Chunks: For that crisp, fruity bite.
- Cinnamon: A dash for warmth and flavor.
- Chia Seeds: For a fiber and omega-3 boost.
- Almond Milk: Or any milk of your choice.
- Honey or Maple Syrup: Your natural sweetener.
- Vanilla Extract: A splash for added aroma.
Variations and Substitutions
- Apple Sauce: use apple sauce instead of shredded apple.
- Spices: Nutmeg or allspice can join the cinnamon.
- Milk: Dairy, oat, or soy milk can be used.
- Sweeteners: agave, honey, and maple syrup work!
amp up the protein!
If you’d like a little bit more protein in your oats, you can always add some Greek yogurt (which would not be vegan, but still delish!) or even a scoop of your favorite protein powder. Check out our protein powder recommendations HERE.

The calorie count on this is off again….a cup of oats has 300 calories, so if the recipe makes 2 servings, there’s no way each serving is only 131 calories. If you’re going to include nutrition info, please check to make sure it’s right. Otherwise it’s useless and not worth your time. Thank you!
Thanks Alex. All fixed!
Congratulations on your engagement!!!! Love overnight oats and can’t wait to try these.
Thank you!!
Does the recipe use 1/2 c or 1 c oats? I think you forgot to include the oats in the recipe, but it looks delicious. Can’t wait to try it.
So sorry I must have deleted it! 1 cup!
I think the quantity of oats is missing from the recipe! 🙂
P.S. they look friggin delicious
Thanks for catching that I think I accidentally deleted it! 1 cup rolled oats <3
So hungry when reading your post! why so delicious? :'(
Just want to say that I love your blog! I found it a couple weeks ago and we’ve already tried several recipes. So I have this prepped for tomorrow but was wondering if the oatmeal can be heated up–or is that weird with the yogurt? Just wanted to check because my husband is picky about food temps and textures.
Thanks!
Hm good question! I’ve never tried it, but I don’t see why not! I’ve used Greek yogurt in baked goods, so I think it’ll be fine! Glad you like FFF 🙂
My husband loves oatmeal for breakfast. But he never tried it as apple pie 🙂 I think it’s the very time.
I”ll make this healthy breakfast for him and myself.
Thank you for the recipe!
Apple pie for breakfast is the best ever!!
I just tried overnight oatmeal for the first time a couple weeks ago. Totally made it a bit different, but was still impressed. It’s nice cause it’s just ready for ya in the morning! I love how in this recipe you used yogurt and how you caramelize those apples in coconut oil. Sounds dreamy! Crazy apples can be stored in the proper conditions for that long. Are we one of the only states that has apples all year round? I totally thought everyone did lol! Need to try this! What apple orchard in the cities so you like best?! Thanks Lee 🙂
I’m honestly not sure. Maybe we just pride having apples year round because it’s like the north pole here for 6 months out of the year 😀 Totally try OO with yogurt. It will change your life.
I’ve tried apple pie oats before and they were kinda nasty- probs because I didn’t add applesauce (love that idea!) or caramelize my apples! I have an oatmeal recipe going up tomorrow.. I feel like a cheater posting oatmeal recipes since they’re so basic. lol. But dis looks so yummeh.
I’ve heard about that way of preserving apples! I hear that’s what Walmart does to keep them year round 🙂
I feel that same way, but there are so many ways to eat itttt and people love ittttttt. Oatmeal for lifeeeee.
This sounds delicious! I love the addition of the greek yogurt.
