I've totally been that girl who felt shame and stress over wanting to live an active lifestyle when her significant other did not. Today my partner and I have very similar views when it comes to exercise and it's the best thing ever. Here's why...

First things first…

GUYS, NIKE IS COMING OUT WITH NEW SHOES AND I WAS THE FIRST ONE TO TRY THEM.

Well, not the FIRST one, but one of the firsts! Mark is a total shoe dude and had so much shoe envy when I got my Nike Epic React package in the mail last week. Today I am partnering with Nike to chat all things running shoes + share my thoughts on working out and significant others.

Nike Epic React

I’m going to be completely honest here, people. Sometimes you find a great pair of workout shoes, but they’re ugly as hell. NOT THESE BABIES. I love that Nike makes outward appearance just as important as the functionality of the shoe and they hit that head on with the Nike Epic React. The Nike Epic React is their latest and greatest when it comes to running shoes–Nike spent 3 years developing a recipe for a brand new foam for a softer, springier and more durable cushioning (learn about this new technology here). They’ll be released on Nike.com on February 22nd (NEXT WEEK), but I got a chance to try them before they hit the shelves.

I’ve been running and working out in these babies all week and loving every second of them.

Why? They’re…

  • Super comfy – I’ve run and cross-trained in them and loved how they feel on my feet.
  • Lightweight – I’m a fan of lightweight shoes that still offer support and these do both.
  • Snug – remember that one time I broke my foot? Snug shoes are so important to me because I feel much more confident in my footing.
  • Soft and bouncy – The soles are super soft and I love the bounce they provide in every step!

I am a size 9 and they are pretty true to size for those that are wondering. I’ve never owned a pair of navy blue workout shoes so I was stoked with this color especially over white since I always get things dirty ๐Ÿ˜› I wanted to share links to my outfit in case anyone is interested.

What I’m Wearing

The new Nike Reacts are a sleek running shoe with an amazing amount of bounce, softness, comfort, and durability! They release in stores on 2/22.

My Thoughts on Working Out and Significant Others

As much as I tell myself that having similar values on exercise as your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband ISN’T a big deal…It totally is. Let me clue you in on a little secret. I’ve totally been that girl that felt shame and stress over working out or wanted to be active because her significant other didn’t make it a priority. I am the kind of person that would rather go on a 10-day hiking adventure than sit in a pool for 10 days and I was dating the opposite kind of person. They say that opposites attract, but I truly believe that you need to have very similar life values to work and we just didn’t have that. Now that I have a man in my life (HEY MARKY) that knows 1. how important fitness is to me. 2. how important fitness is to health and 3. how important fitness is to life…I am a new woman.

I want to clarify that when I say workout or fitness, I am not only referring to hitting the gym and going for runs but living an active lifestyle in general. This could refer to going for a walk after work instead of wanting to watch Netflix. Taking the canoe out on the lake instead of hitting a brewery. Or going for a run even while on vacation. The list goes on. While I love breweries and Netflix, I’d rather run or bike to a brewery, drink my beer with fulfillment and bike home instead of driving there and back. Get my drift? Lucky for me, Mark is the first person to say let’s go bouldering tonight or walk the lake. He even got me back into running again because it’s one of his favorite forms of exercise. We both love the outdoors and it makes my heart so happy that I don’t have to be the only one suggesting these types of activities and that we are always on the same wavelength.

Another thing that brings me so much joy is my partner and I having similar values on exercise and taking time off. You guys know my past of having an unhealthy obsessive relationship with exercise. Well, it’s nice to have Mark in my life who truly listens to his body. I’d say he’s the epitome of intuitive with food and exercise and this has really helped me in my own journey of intuitiveness.

And now I shall leave you with a secret. Mark and I have our own handshake that we do when we workout together. It’s pretty corny but actually adorable. ๐Ÿ˜€

My wife and I were quite engaged in athletics, and riding bicycles was our pleasure. After several upsetting incidents, I became depressed and didn’t desire anything. It’s great that they discovered a relationship test and does calmerry accept insurance Due to him and the assistance of professionals, they began to recover from their despair. Try it, it truly works.

I know for me personally, it was difficult to be the only one in the relationship who was trying to live a healthier lifestyle. It allowed me to fall back into old “unhealthy” eating habits. After hurting my shoulder, the weight training also stopped.

Now, my wife and I are both on this journey together. It’s a great feeling to have your partner there with you with the same type of goals. Finding healthy options for dinner has become much easier. It’s also nice to have that little bit of push from someone that you know has your back.

Hi Lee! I’m a college student new to the blogging world and found your site when looking for bloggers similar to myself. I love what you have here and feel as though we have very similar backgrounds, values and passions- the inspiration behind my blog seems very similar to yours! If you have any advice on things you wish you’d known when you first got started or that would be helpful for a college beginner to know, I’d love to hear more about your experiences! Here’s a link to a little bit of background if you get a chance to check it out! https://breathebalancebe.wordpress.com/2018/01/31/pilot/ Thanks!
