These High-Protein Fudgesicles pack 12g of protein per fudgesicle and taste just like the classic treat you remember from childhood but with a protein boost and just 5 ingredients, including cottage cheese, peanut butter, and chocolate Core Power.
Did your grandparents feed you fudgesicles like it was their job when you were a kid? Mine sure did! And I loved every bite. So as we continue on our cottage cheese journey here on Fit Foodie Finds, we had to recreate this childhood classic. But with our chocolate fudgesicles, you can enjoy the nostalgic treat without the sugar crash. 😋
Just blend, freeze, and enjoy! It’s that simple. And with only 5 ingredients, you can whip up a batch of these protein-packed fudgesicles in no time.
All You Need for Protein Fudgescicles
- 2% cottage cheese: Cottage cheese is a great source of protein and adds a creaminess to the fudgesicles. Make sure you use 2% or 5% cottage cheese for these fudgesicles. Why? Lower fat cottage cheese contains higher water content and will cause an icy texture in your fudgesicles.
- Core Power Fairlife chocolate protein shake: This protein shake adds a rich chocolate flavor and boosts up the protein. They are our go-to protein shake 😋; both the vanilla and chocolate flavors are heavenly.
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: Cocoa powder adds even more chocolate flavor without any added sugar, which is a double win in our boots.
- All-natural peanut butter: Make sure you use creamy, all-natural peanut butter.
- Maple syrup: Adds a touch of sweetness without refined sugar.
Kitchen Equipment You Need
- High-speed blender: This will ensure all the ingredients are well combined and smooth.
- Popsicle mold: Any size or shape will work, but I recommend using a silicone mold like this one below for easy removal.

Keep this silicone popsicle mold on hand to make easy, homemade popsicles at home.
Our Favorite
Beast Blender
The Beast Blender is our go-to blender for smoothies, dips, soups, and everything in between. It’s the perfect size and moderately priced. Oh, and oh-so powerful!
What type of cottage cheese should I use?
A higher-fat cottage cheese will leave you with a richer fudgesicle, so we recommend 2% or 5%. If you use a low fat or fat free cottage cheese, it will leave you with an icy textured fudgesicle, which is just not recommended.
Don’t Have Popsicle Molds?
Don’t let not having popsicle molds stop you from making these delicious fudgesicles. You can use small paper cups or even an ice cube tray to make mini popsicles! Just cover the top with foil and stick a popsicle stick in the middle before freezing.
Make It Your Own!
Add toppings: Add chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the bottom of your popsicle mold before pouring in the mixture for added texture and flavor.
Swap the nut butter: Swap peanut butter for almond butter or other nut butters to switch up the flavor profile.
Add fruit: Blend in some frozen berries or mashed banana for a fruity twist on this protein-packed treat.
How to Store Protein Fudgesicles
Store your protein fudgesicles in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. When ready to serve, remove from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before unmolding.
Protein Fudgesicles Recipe
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups 2% cottage cheese
- ½ cup chocolate core power
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons creamy, all-natural peanut butter
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
Instructions
- Add the cottage cheese to a high-speed blender. Blend until completely smooth. Add a few teaspoons of water if the cottage cheese is too thick to smooth out.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and blend until combined.
- Pour the mixture into a 12-slot silicon popsicle mold. Cover and add popsicle sticks and transfer the popsicles to the freezer. Freeze the popsicles overnight.
- To remove the popsicles from the mold, let them sit out for 10 minutes or run the mold under warm water for a few moments.
- Remove the popsicle and enjoy. Return the popsicle mold to the freezer until ready to eat again.
Tips & Notes
- We recommend a higher-fat cottage cheese, as it will leave you with a richer fudgesicle.
