Stovetop Oats

I fell in love with stovetop oatmeal because of our Fluffy Banana Stovetop Oats. Perfectly creamy, thick & luscious, and healthy! I’m excited to be sharing a new stovetop oatmeal recipe with you today and it involves two of my favorites things…1. strawberries and 2. cream. oatmeal ingredients Strawberries and cream is a flavor combo that I just can’t get over. I love the freshness of the berries and cream adds that aspect of indulgence that I just love. This strawberries and cream oatmeal recipe is indeed made on the stovetop and eaten warm. It’s also gluten-free and vegan, too! In order to get started, you need 7 simple ingredients.

What You Need

  • rolled oats rolled oats are my favorite kind of oats to use for stovetop oats. They cook quickly and the texture is amazing.
  • almond milk any kind of milk will work for this recipe! Even cow’s milk or lactose-free milk.
  • banana- banana helps add all-natural sweetness to this recipe without adding refined sugar.
  • strawberries- we recommend using fresh strawberries, but frozen will do the trick, too!
  • chia seeds chia seeds add volume to stovetop oats and I promise you that you don’t want to skip them. Plus, they add omega-3 fatty acids, too!
  • vanilla extract– when in doubt, add vanilla extract. A touch of vanilla brings out the lovely fruity hues of the strawberries.
  • maple syrup– maple syrup is warm-tasting all-natural sugar that is going to make your oatmeal taste like dessert!

Fun Flavor Swaps

This is a great base recipe for you to take and play with. Here are some fun swaps for you to try! Strawberries: Try using 2 cups of a different fruit such as blueberries, peaches, nectarines, or apples for a completely different vibe! Maple Syrup: No maple on hand? No problem! Feel free to swap in honey or agave instead. Vanilla Extract: Instead of vanilla extract, try adding almond extract or even a little bit of orange or lemon extract.   strawberries and cream oatmeal with toppings PS: if you were hoping for an overnight oats version of this recipe– try our Strawberry Vanilla Overnight Oats recipe for a similar vibe. Yum! I’d love to wake up to this <3 So much better than plain old oatmeal without all those add-ins. And that sleep tracking app sounds amazing, I tried a different one some time ago and it didn't really seem to work so I need to try this one! And I'm definitely with you on the 8+ hours team ๐Ÿ˜€

I am known as ‘app mom’ – I work for an app company (Kurbo) and I use way too many app’s!! I literally can’t take a sip of water without tracking it (thanks a lot Plant Nanny) lol. So when so lost my 3rd Fit Bit I gave up…I’m better off I figure with one less app! So no, I do it track my sleep – I’m way to hyper focused and would make myself crazy obsessing over it I’m sure! Thanks for the recipe idea. Totes going to make this for hubby…he Loves his oats!! ??

I love that sleeping app! I’d bet I would not be able to sleep if I knew I had this beautiful bowl of oatmeal waiting for me:)

I’ve had that app on my phone for what feels like forever – and LOVE it. Especially how it can wake up you between a time frame so you can finish a sleep cycle. I’m glad they upgraded it to have you put it on your nightstand. When I first downloaded it, it did need to be on your bed by your pillow!

I have that app! I was obsessed with it for awhile but it’s a hassle because it drains my battery if my phone isn’t plugged in but when I’m at my boyfriend’s there’s no plug near the bed so I stopped using it and kinda forgot about it. I’ll have to check it out again though!

I know! there were definitely some nights where it thought I slept well but I woke up tired or when I think it picked up my dog instead of me. but I love stuff like that and fitbit stats so it’s fun to look at!

Oh I think I tried that app and then I stopped because I thought it had to be ON my bed, and my cord didn’t reach far enough, lol. I should look into it again because I am curious!
These photos are gorgeous! You’ve totally helped get me on board of the oatmeal train (it was a hard task, so kudos) ๐Ÿ˜‰
