Spiked hot chocolate?! YES PLEASE! You’re going to love this dairy-free hot chocolate recipe because it’s spiked with a little bit of amaretto and made with almond milk and maple syrup! Other holiday favorites of ours are these Festive Hot Toddies as well as this Raspberry Mulled Wine…YUM! Spiked Hot Chocolate EVERYONE. This spiked hot chocolate recipe is the mecca of all hot chocolates. Why? One word– Amaretto. Amaretto has such a yummy, almondy flavor and it pairs perfectly with hot chocolate! Amaretto is a sweet Italian liquor and it tastes and smells like the most perfect almond extract on this planet! I love it in this dairy free hot chocolate recipe not only for the flavor but because it’s easy drinking! Hot Chocolate Ingredients For this dairy free hot chocolate, you only need 4 total ingredients. 4! Check it out:

Dairy Free Hot Chocolate with Amaretto Ingredients

  • unsweetened almond milk
  • maple syrup
  • cocoa powder
  • amaretto
If you’re not an almond milk kind of person, be my guest and swap it out for any kind of milk including cow’s, soy, or oat! I’ve made this recipe with both normal cocoa powder and dark cocoa powder, both are equally as delicious! If you’re making this recipe for a crowd, feel free to double or triple! And, if you want to opt-out of the alcohol, you can skip the 1 oz. of amaretto and add about 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract into the cups of cocoa that do not want the booze! You are actually right on describing this recipe. The typical hot chocolate comes with a twist in its taste with the amaretto. It is a great idea for me to make the most of everything in this recipe to make certain that a good recipe will be served at the table.

Amaretto sounds really sweet. I’ve tried it though. Within chilly days in winter, a cup of hot chocolate would be perfect during working hours 😉
