We love it’s rich texture and mild taste and it’s the perfect high-protein addition to lots of our protein dessert recipes and main meals.

The cottage cheese TikTok trend started in 2023 and it’s still going strong and we’re not mad about it. Some of our most popular recipes on Fit Foodie Finds are protein-packed all thanks to cottage cheese. We’ve gotten a couple of million views on Instagram, too, for some of our popular cottage cheese recipes.
Did you know that per 1/2 cup serving, cottage cheese packs in 13g of protein? Dangggg, girl. For this very reason is why we love using cottage cheese in our recipes. Sometimes we leave it in it’s curd form and other times we whip it to make it nice and smooth. This is great for pasta sauces, lasagna, and cottage cheese ice cream!
What is the best kind of cottage cheese for cooking?
We prefer to use a 2% – 4% fat content in our recipes because if you go low fat/nonfat, the water content is higher.
