Listen, my kiddo could eat pizza every single day, but obviously I like to mix things up a bit with flavors and textures. My solution? This cottage cheese pizza bowl! They satisfy Gus’ pizza cravings (and mine!). And guess what? They’ll be ready to eat in 15 minutes, and pack 21g of protein per serving.

Assemble, bake, and serve. That’s all folks. I like to serve mine with crusty bread for dippin’, which is obviously #toddlerapproved.

List for My Pizza Bowl Recipe (Only 5 Ingredients!)

  • 2% cottage cheese: High in protein and low in carbs, cottage cheese serves as the perfect base for these pizza bowls.
  • Pizza sauce: Use your favorite pizza sauce for that classic pizza flavor.
  • Italian seasoning: Give your cottage cheese bowl some Italian flare with some Italian seasoning.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese: Because what’s pizza without cheese?
  • Sliced pepperoni: A staple pizza topping! Mmmm.

Can I use marinara sauce instead of pizza sauce?

Yes! Marinara sauce can be used in place of pizza sauce for these savory cottage cheese bowls.

Delicious Add-Ins

Like any pizza, you can add whatever toppings you’d like to these cottage cheese pizza bowls. For example, ¼ cup of vegetables can be added to this recipe in step 2. We tried minced bell pepper and onions, but you can use whichever vegetables you prefer. You can also add cooked ground beef, turkey, or chicken for added protein and flavor.

Other Cottage Cheese Bowl Varieties

If you’re not a fan of pizza (um… what?) or want to switch things up, there are plenty of other options for cottage cheese bowl recipes. Here are a few ideas that I like to make in my own kitchen:

Mexican-style: Use salsa and Mexican seasoning instead of pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Top with black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Greek-style: Replace pizza sauce with hummus and add Mediterranean toppings like olives, feta cheese, and cucumber slices.

Breakfast bowls: Skip the pizza sauce and add cooked breakfast meats like bacon, sausage, or ham. Top with scrambled eggs and shredded cheese for a hearty morning meal.

Veggie delight: Load up on your favorite vegetables by using a variety of toppings like mushrooms, spinach, zucchini, and bell peppers. Add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for an extra kick of flavor.
