A Classic Mimosa Recipe

We have quite a few amazing cocktail recipes here on Fit Foodie Finds, but this is our very first CLASSIC mimosa recipe. And what better time to make this easy but fancy drink at the next brunch or get together that you’re hosting?!

We’ll walk you through how to make a classic mimosa, a few flavor variations and share our favorite stemless flutes for serving.

why we love this mimosa

It is the perfect brunch cocktail: Is there anything better than a classic mimosa at brunch?!

Sweet + tart: Nobody likes an overly sweet cocktail. This mimosa has a bit of sweetness from the orange juice, and the bubbly from the champagne adds a nice bite and fizz.

Perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any holiday: When you are hosting, it’s always great to go for simple yet elegant — this mimosa is just that!

Classic Mimosa Pro Tips

Let’s Talk Champagne: True Champagne can be difficult to find (and has become increasingly expensive!), but there are plenty of great sparkling wines out there — La Marca and Valdo are two of our favorites for making mimosas.

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice: Freshly squeezed orange juice makes all the difference in mimosas! If you have the time to squeeze your own orange juice or buy fresh squeezed, we highly recommend it over bottled juice.

Serving a Crowd: To make sure your champagne doesn’t lose its bubbles before you drink it, we recommend keeping the orange juice and bubbly separate until serving. Keep your bottle of champagne on ice, and serve your orange juice in a festive pitcher or mason jar.

How to Make a Mimosa

Making a mimosa is as easy as 1-2-3 😀

  1. Add orange juice to the glass: Pour orange juice into the bottom of your glass.
  2. Top with champagne: Top the orange juice with champagne until it reaches the top of the glass.
  3. Garnish: You can garnish your classic mimosa with orange peel or an orange slice.

  • Blood Orange Mimosas: swap out the orange juice 1:1 for blood orange juice.
  • Apple Mimosas: swap out the orange juice 1:1 for apple cider. Dip the rim in cinnamon sugar and garnish with a cinnamon stick!
  • Beermosa: skip the champagne and sub in your favorite wheat beer.
  • Cranberry Mimosas: for the holidays, swap the orange juice 1:1 for cranberry juice, and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and fresh cranberries.
  • Make It More Boozy: add an ounce of fruit liqueur to your mimosa — pomegranate liqueur, limoncello or triple sec are all delicious!

To ensure your champagne doesn’t lose its air pockets before you drink it, we suggest keeping the squeezed orange and effervescent isolated more info of the forestresearchtools.com for these special seasons, trade the squeezed orange 1:1 for cranberry squeeze, and embellishment with a branch of rosemary and new cranberries.
