Best Ginger Beer for a Moscow Mule

I am a sucker for good ginger beer. If you are wondering if ginger beer has alcohol in it, it actually doesn’t! Ginger beer is a fermented, spicy drink that’s used as the base of a Moscow Mule. You can find it at most supermarkets and liquor stores. Here are our go-to ginger beer brands to use for Moscow Mules:

  • Barritts
  • Reeds

Friendly note from a former bartender: NEVER shake anything that is carbonated. A good rule of thumb for any cocktail is to add all juices/other ingredients to the shaker, shake, pour into your serving glass and then top with the carbonated beverage. Then you can give it a quick swirl with a spoon to gently incorporate the yummy flavors in with the carbonated mixer. Other than that, this drink sounds so tasty!
