Brunch in Style

Brunch is all the craze right now. I know some people are totally over brunching and think that it’s a made-up meal created by millennials and their Instagram photos. I’m here to tell you to brunch as often and for as long as your heart desires. Any excuse I have to make delicious food and drinks for people I love, the better. There is no doubt that there are so many great restaurant options in every city (especially Minneapolis) to brunch. However, I love having people over and sitting around a huge table on a Sunday morning. When we brunch at home, we almost always start off with a delicious bloody mary. They are a perfectly savory way to start off any brunch day. They also offer a little appetizer if you pair them with your favorite accouterments. Meat sticks, cheese, and pickles OH MY. Bloody Mary Ingredients

There are so many bloody mary mixes on the market that would do just fine for a delicious semi-homemade bloody mary. There are generally local mixes you can purchase from your area, but if we are running behind and have to purchase a store bought mix, we like Zing Zang. If you’ve got the time to make your own homemade bloody mary recipe, we highly recommend it. Below are the staple ingredients for any bloody mary. REMINDER- these are all recommendations. Feel free to make this bloody mary recipe your own, too!
  • Tomato Juice
  • Vodka
  • Worcestershire
  • Hot Sauce (we like sriracha or Franks)
  • Mustard
  • Lemon Juice
  • Spices
  • Snacks (cheese curds, olives, pickles, meat sticks, celery, carrots, mini cheeseburgers hehe)
We love to find tomato juice with absolutely no additives so that we can really make our own by flavoring it ourselves. Sometimes we double up on the hot sauce for an extra spicy day or add some extra pickles if we’re hungry. There are no official rules. We do consider this bloody mary recipe the perfect combination of savory and delicious.

How to Make a Bloody Mary

Making a bloody mary is SUPER simple. Add ice to a tall glass and start by pouring the vodka over the ice. From there you add the rest of the ingredients. Before adding in any of the cheese, meat, and other snacks give the other bloody mary ingredients a good mix. Then it’s time for the fun part. Add a celery stick first and give the bloody mary another little stir. After that add skewers of cheese cubes, cheese curds, meat sticks, and everything in between! HEAVEN.

The Best Bloody Mary Glasses

If we’re being real, it doesn’t matter what type of glass you drink out of when you’re enjoying a bloody mary. However, it doesn’t hurt to drink out of tall glasses that feel good in your hand. Here are some of our favorites! Pouring Bloody Mary Mix into a glass bloody mary in a glass
