Pork carnitas are so simple to make and you only need a few ingredients!
First, combine the pork carnitas spices in a small bowl. Then, massage it all over your pork shoulder, covering all 4 sides.
Sear the pork shoulder in olive oil on both sides for 3-4 minutes. The goal is to get it nice and golden brown.
Add pork, broth, onion, and orange juice to your slow cooker. Slow cook on high for 6-8 hours or until the pork is fall-off-the-bone tender.
Use 2 forks to carefully shred your pork shoulder. You can remove it and shred it on a baking sheet if that is easier.
Transfer the shredded pork carnitas to a baking sheet and bake at 450ºF for 5-7 minutes to crisp it up. You can also broil it for 2-3 minutes, too.
Enjoy your carnitas topped with fresh lime juice and cilantro.
