How to Make Spinach Smoothies
We’re big fans of spinach smoothies or green smoothies in general over here at Fit Foodie Finds for a couple reasons. We love any excuse to get your daily dose of greens in right away in the morning, especially if it’s packed into a delicious and nutritious smoothie. We’re also firm believers that spinach smoothies shouldn’t taste like straight soil. This spinach smoothie is no different. It’s perfectly tropical with just the right amount of creamy sweetness. Let’s get into it:
Tropical Spinach Smoothie Ingredients
Fresh spinach: this recipe calls for 2 cups of packed fresh spinach. This means you’ll want to PACK your spinach into your measuring cups. The more spinach the better! You’re getting your greens in with this smoothie for sure.
Tropical blend frozen fruit: any major grocer will carry a tropical blend of bagged frozen fruit. But feel free to stock up on your favorite tropical fruits, cut them up, and then place into stasher bags or ziplocs in the freezer for future use.
Coconut milk: we’re typically fans of full-fat coconut milk when we’re cooking or smoothie-making, but feel free to use the lite variety if you prefer that.
Water: a little water goes a long way in this recipe! And just allows your smoothie to be thick, but not TOO thick.
Ground flax: flax is such a great source of protein, fiber and omega-3s!
Optional Smoothie Toppings
Seeds:Â chia, pumpkin seeds or hemp hearts
Nuts:Â walnuts, peanuts, cashews or almonds
Dried fruit: coconut flakes, craisins, raisins, banana chips
Granola: WholeMe, Seven Sundays, KIND or Brandless
The Best Blenders for Smoothies
The best #protip for smoothie-making is to make sure you use a high-quality blender. We highly recommend investing in a high-speed blender such as a Vitamix or Kitchen Ninja because it will change your life. It makes smoothing making super simple, and you’ll never have large chunks of spinach infiltrating your green smoothies again.
For this tropical spinach smoothie, all you have to do is place everything into a blender at once and blend on high until smooth. Then, serve with slivered coconut and you’re off to the most delicious spinach smoothie experience of your life.

I prefer taking quick breakfasts early in the morning as I run short of time each day. Smoothies are quick and nutritious breakfasts, so I throw all the things in the blender and get a smoothie in seconds. I like this tropical green smoothie recipe but its carbohydrate content is high for me as I’m on the keto diet. Can you tell me what to do to reduce its carbs?
