If I had to choose one overnight oats flavor to eat for the rest of my life, it would hands down be this peanut butter banana variation. I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve made them and the same goes for lots of you. I love eating them with a giant scoop of peanut butter on top with some sliced bananas. And, more recently, I’ve been adding a scoop of protein powder!

This peanut butter banana overnight oats recipe is one of our most popular Fit Foodie Finds breakfasts. They are smooth, and creamy, and only take 5 minutes to prepare. Bonus – my 1-year-old Gus is obsessed with them, which means your kids will love them too 🕺

What is in peanut butter banana overnight oats?

You are absolutely going to love this creamy overnight oats recipe. It’s sweetened with mashed banana and honey and made thick and creamy with Greek yogurt and peanut butter. Enjoy!

Variations for PB Banana Overnight Oats

  • Add protein: If you’re hoping to fit more protein into your diet, go ahead and try adding around 2 tablespoons of your favorite protein powder or collagen.
  • Use a different sweetener: feel free to swap the honey for maple syrup, agave, or even brown sugar.
  • Swap the peanut butter: if you can’t do peanut butter, any kind of nut butter works. Try almond butter or cashew butter!

Topping Ideas

Don’t forget the toppings…it’s the best part! We went with more sliced bananas, a dollop of creamy peanut butter, and some chopped peanuts. Here are other ideas:

  • Berries
  • chocolate chips
  • Fresh lemon zest
  • Almond milk
  • Dried cranberries

How long do PB Banana Overnight Oats last in the fridge?

Store leftover peanut butter banana overnight oats in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3. We recommend on adding your toppings fresh right before serving.

Hi! I love overnight oats and will usually make a batch of 8 (2 servings for the next 4 days) for my hubby and I. Any idea if the bananas will stay good for that long? Thanks!

I made this recipe late last night for a easy start to a very early work day and it was delicious! Seriously can’t believe how good it tasted – it was enough to wake me up and get me going and feel full from 6 am – 2pm so thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ it was also super easy to make. I altered it a bit – almond instead of peanut butter, nutmeg instead of cinnamon and no Greek yogurt and I used steel cut oats instead of rolled and it is the most amazing and hearty breakfast!

Yes, the steel cut oats worked amazingly! The whole thing tasted like a soft, almost buttery texture – which would make me feel guilty except knowing there’s nothing bad in it ๐Ÿ™‚

This is delicious! My boyfriend and I are doing the SSS (starting off with week 1 since I just found your site) and this was our breakfast today. I’ve never had OO before and these are amazing and a super easy recipe to boot! I love how the calorie count is included and the portion size is perfect. Thanks so much for these interesting and appetizing choices!

This looks yummy but not sure if I’d like it cold. When you warm it, do you just pop it in the microwave?

Can you use a substitute for greek yogurt? Coconut milk?? I don’t do dairy. Thanks!

Hi Lee,

This year’s recipes look absolutely scrumptious!!! Quick question – do these fit one serving in a jar like last year’s did? That’s been so convenient to keep in the fridge!

Just curious,

Overnight oat week, LOVE IT! I haven’t made them all winter because I like my oats warm on cold mornings, but need to start prepping these again.
