Chicken Tikka Masala Crockpot is the BEST
You can’t go wrong with chicken in the slow cooker. Amiright!? It’s just such a versatile source of protein that can evenly cook on high or low when submerged in a sauce, broth or other liquid.
Not to mention, I love that this slow cooker chicken tikka masala recipe doesn’t require me to touch and cut raw chicken multiple times and dirty multiple dishes in the prepping process.
By placing the whole raw chicken breasts in the tikka sauce to cook in your slow cooker, you can also choose how you’d like to serve the chicken once it’s done — dicing the chicken works great for this tikka, but if you prefer shredded chicken chunks, that absolutely works as well.

Great recipe. I made it stove top with chicken thighs and added about extra of each spice plus a little curry powder – we love it. Ty
If I make this again, I will be sure to peel the potatoes and cut them smaller. I loved the flavor but too much potato for me.
Does it have to be coconut milk? I have all the other ingredients. Can I use 2% cows’ milk?
Hi Hilary, The coconut milk is pretty crucial to the flavor of this dish, so we don’t recommend substituting cows’ milk!
Can I cook this in an instant pot? Thanks!
Is the serving size 1 cup?
Can you confirm please
The taste is great!!! …. but my chicken turned out pretty dry. I set it on high for about 3.5 hours. I am fairly new to cooking, did I simply cook it too long?
Chicken breast is usually best cooked on low as it dries out easily.
Once frozen how long does it keep? And how do you defrost and reheat?
Hey Roxy! We have an entire guide on how to do this HERE.
Take out the potatoes and this is idea for a low carb, low calorie meal!
