If I had to choose one overnight oats flavor to eat for the rest of my life, it would hands down be this peanut butter banana variation. I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve made them and the same goes for lots of you. I love eating them with a giant scoop of peanut butter on top with some sliced bananas. And, more recently, I’ve been adding a scoop of protein powder!

This peanut butter banana overnight oats recipe is one of our most popular Fit Foodie Finds breakfasts. They are smooth, and creamy, and only take 5 minutes to prepare. Bonus – my 1-year-old Gus is obsessed with them, which means your kids will love them too 🕺
What is in peanut butter banana overnight oats?
You are absolutely going to love this creamy overnight oats recipe. It’s sweetened with mashed banana and honey and made thick and creamy with Greek yogurt and peanut butter. Enjoy!
- Rolled Oats (you can sub quick cooking, but we prefer the texture of rolled)
- Creamy Peanut Butter
- Banana
- Unsweetened Almond Milk
- Greek Yogurt
- Honey
- Chia Seeds
- Cinnamon
- Vanilla
Ingredient Swaps
- Add protein: If you’re hoping to fit more protein into your diet, go ahead and try adding around 2 tablespoons of your favorite protein powder or collagen.
- Use a different sweetener: feel free to swap the honey for maple syrup, agave, or even brown sugar.
- Swap the peanut butter: if you can’t do peanut butter, any kind of nut butter works.
Topping Ideas
Don’t forget the toppings…it’s the best part! We went with more sliced bananas, a dollop of creamy peanut butter, and some chopped peanuts. Here are other ideas:
- Berries
- chocolate chips
- Fresh lemon zest
- Almond milk
- Dried cranberries
How to Store Overnight Oats
Store leftover peanut butter banana overnight oats in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-5 days. We recommend on adding your toppings fresh right before serving.

Just stumbled across your blog. I love it! I just made these overnight oats for my lunch tomorrow and pre-workout breakfast on Saturday. Making meals ahead of time helps me stay on track.
Woohoo! Love times a million!!!
Can you use a substitute for greek yogurt? Coconut milk?? I don’t do dairy. Thanks!
Hey Kelly! I have not personally tried that, but I don’t see why not. You could also just omit the Greek yogurt and up the almond milk in this recipe!
Hi Lee,
This year’s recipes look absolutely scrumptious!!! Quick question – do these fit one serving in a jar like last year’s did? That’s been so convenient to keep in the fridge!
Just curious,
Kelly Renée
These serve 2! But actually- 2 servings will fit perfectly in a mason jar, so you’re good to go if that’s what you have!
Overnight oat week, LOVE IT! I haven’t made them all winter because I like my oats warm on cold mornings, but need to start prepping these again.
I am the same way, but am finally back on the overnight oat train. Hopefully it will bring some warm weather my way! PLEASE!
