This Iced Protein Strawberry Matcha has got the protein power to fuel your day (we’re talkin’ 15g of protein / serving!), all with the perfect combination of earthy and sweet flavors served in 3 gorgeous layers.
Vibrant green, creamy, and packed with antioxidants, matcha has become such a trendy drink over the years. And I have to admit, I’m hooked! From our Banana Matcha Smoothie to our Gluten Free Matcha Waffles we’ve been incorporating matcha into our recipes left and right. We’ve made the quintessential Iced Matcha Latte, but now it’s time to pump it up with some protein and sweet strawberry flavor.
All this protein strawberry matcha takes is a blender, a few simple ingredients, and a love for matcha! Get ready to sip and fall in love:
Ingredients You Need
- Matcha powder: We recommend using fair trade, organic matcha powder for the best quality and flavor.
- Fresh strawberries: These add a subtle sweetness and fruity flavor to the matcha. It’s such a great combo!
- Honey simple syrup: The way honey complements matcha is like no other. This simple syrup adds just the right amount of natural sweetness.
- Core Power Fairlife vanilla protein shake: This is our fav protein shake because it’s creamy, delicious, and packed with 26 grams of protein!
- Blender: You’ll need a high-speed blender to properly mix all the ingredients and create a smooth, creamy texture.
What other kinds of sweeteners can I use?
Feel free to use any flavor of simple syrup you prefer. You can also use agave, stevia, or maple syrup as alternative sweeteners.
What sized glasses does this recipe serve?
This protein matcha recipe makes two servings that will perfectly fill two 8-ounce glasses. The amount of Core Power you can add to this drink will depend on the glass size, so if you want to use a larger glass, you may need to adjust the recipe accordingly to fill the entire glass.
Fun Drink Topper Ideas
Want to add a little flare to your protein matcha? Here are some ideas:
- Whipped cream or frothed Fair Life Core Power
- Coconut flakes
- Chia seeds
- Fresh sliced strawberries
- Sprinkled matcha powder
top tips
- Use a clear glass so you can see all the layers. You can use a spoon or gently pour the Core Power and matcha so they don’t mix immediately.
- The matcha is more concentrated in this recipe because you will mix it with the Core Power once served. You can make it less concentrated by using less matcha powder when you mix it with the water.
Storage Directions
This protein strawberry matcha isn’t something you should make ahead and store for later. It is best enjoyed fresh, so we recommend making it right before serving. If you have leftover ingredients, like fresh strawberries or matcha powder, store them separately in airtight containers in the fridge.
