This strawberry smoothie has been my go-to for years! While it only calls for 4 ingredients, it’s truly the best strawberry smoothie I’ve ever had. I typically make my smoothies with some kind of milk, but the secret ingredient in this recipe is actually orange juice! This is what makes it taste cafe-worthy!

We’ve been hard at work in the kitchen trying to perfect the basic strawberry smoothie recipe. This might sound strange, but we’ve become smoothie snobs and we’re not mad about it.
I mean, just look at how delicious my top five FFF smoothies are: 1. The Best Breakfast Smoothie, 2. Banana Matcha Smoothie, 3. Avocado Mint Smoothie, 4. Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie, and 5. Peanut Butter Cold Brew Protein Smoothie.
After testing many variations of this classic strawberry smoothie recipe, here’s what we found:
- Yogurt rocks: We went back and forth about whether or not to use yogurt in this recipe and at the end of the day, a strawberry smoothie with yogurt is just better than one without! It adds a bit of a tang and extra protein.
- Orange juice is key: We also tested this recipe with different kinds of liquid such as almond milk, normal cow’s milk, and water and orange juice won over and over again.
Serving tip: this smoothie comes out THICK. So, feel free to add a bit more OJ to thin things out. You can even serve it as a smoothie bowl, too đŸ˜€

Yum! I make a similar smoothie but sub the juice for almond milk. I also add in 1 Tbsp of both hemp seeds and almond or peanut butter! It’s nutrient-rich and delicious!
Delish additions, Nancy!
