This strawberry smoothie has been my go-to for years! While it only calls for 4 ingredients, it’s truly the best strawberry smoothie I’ve ever had.
I typically make my smoothies with some kind of milk, but the secret ingredient in this recipe is actually orange juice! This is what makes it taste cafe-worthy!
The Most Perfect Strawberry Smoothie
We’ve been hard at work in the kitchen trying to perfect the basic strawberry smoothie recipe. This might sound strange, but we’ve become smoothie snobs and we’re not mad about it.
I mean, just look at how delicious my top five FFF smoothies are: 1. The Best Breakfast Smoothie, 2. Banana Matcha Smoothie, 3. Avocado Mint Smoothie, 4. Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie, and 5. Peanut Butter Cold Brew Protein Smoothie.
This simple recipe only requires 4 ingredients and a high-speed blender. In this post, we’ll share how to make this easy smoothie, plus tips and tricks on how to make it your own.
After testing many variations of this recipe, here’s what we found:
- Yogurt rocks: We went back and forth about whether or not to use yogurt in this recipe and at the end of the day, a strawberry smoothie with yogurt is just better than one without! It adds a bit of a tang and extra protein.
- Orange juice is key: We also tested this recipe with different kinds of liquid such as almond milk, normal cow’s milk, and water and orange juice won over and over again.
Strawberry Smoothie Ingredients
Here’s what you need in order to make the best strawberry smoothie recipe:
Frozen strawberries: we used frozen strawberries, but fresh strawberries will work as well. We prefer frozen strawberries so that you don’t have to use any ice. Check out our tutorial on how to freeze strawberries.
Banana: either a fresh or frozen banana will work for this recipe! Check out our tutorial on how to freeze bananas for smoothies.
Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt adds a decent amount of protein and will make your smoothie extra creamy. Feel free to use any kind you wish. We went with plain Greek yogurt, but vanilla or strawberry would work too.
Pro tip: to keep this smoothie 100% plant-based, use a dairy-free yogurt!
Orange Juice: the way to get that cafe-worthy flavor is the orange juice! We love the flavor and the boost of vitamin c. Make sure to use 100% orange juice with no added sugar.

This looks so delish. I love strawberries.
we make smoothies quite often – we have the Vitamix from Sam’s – great price…. instead of the greek yogurt, we use the can whip cream to add a touch of sweetness – the canned whip cream is very low in carbs (unlike the tub versions)
So glad you liked this recipe! And love the whipped cream add!
It sounds good but.. Strawberry PINEAPPLE smoothie. This might sound silly but PINEAPPLE is not even an ingredient. I also can’t use banana as my mom is allergic so what do you recommend for this?
I love this smoothie so much! It’s easily my favourite. Delicious! I also add in a little vanilla protein powder.
It’s one of our favorites too!
Nice recipe.. it looks so refreshing
I love it, thanks for this great ideas.
Hi love this recipe. On a diet lost some weight and want to keep it off. Would live to see more
This was a easy recipe to make
What can be used instead of bananas? I am allergic to them, they give me migraines.
This is why I very much prefer to make my own smoothies at home than buy them anywhere else! I have full control of the quantities of ingredients and I don’t have to pay a sh*t ton of money. Woohoo, this is just bringing me way more smoothie inspiration!
