Bring on all of the chai-flavored recipes this fall! Whether you are a spicy chai tea person, a sweet chai person, or a dirty chai tea latte kind of human, this homemade chai spice mix is delicious and totally customizable.

Add these chai spices to your cabinet for easy access to chai spices all year round. You can add this mix to a protein, overnight oats, or your favorite sweet snack for a chai spice twist!

What is in chai spice?

How much chai spice should I use in chai tea?

Per 1 cup of water/milk, we recommend using 1 teaspoon of chai spices + 1 black tea bag to make chai tea. Check out our chai tea latte recipe.

What does this chai spice mix taste like?

This chai spice mix is on the spicier side. We like our chai with a bite rather than a sweet spice mix so we added a little extra ground ginger. If you love yourself a sweet chai, try taking out some ginger and adding more cinnamon or even a teaspoon of coconut sugar or brown sugar. Have no shame either way. The taste buds want, what the taste buds want. DO YOU FEEL ME?

We love mixing up our own chai spices so that we have chai spice ready in the pantry whenever we’re craving a chai tea latte or one of our favorite Fit Foodie Finds chai recipes. Yes, we have a bunch!  Check them out.

It says a serving is 1/16 of the total. It contains 18 teaspoons in all. I’m guessing you would add about a teaspoon and adjust up or down to taste from there.

OMG the chai spice and chai tea recipe is so flavorful!!! So much richer than those watered down chai teas at any coffee place. I strained my tea with a sieve but you still taste the exotic flavor of the spices!!! I love these recipes. Thank you.

I love this recipe! This is my second batch and I use it every morning in my coffee. I also used it to make Chai shortbread cookies this past Christmas and they were a hit! Itโ€™s now my go too!
