Surrender Salmon
I love posts like today because I get to talk about an amazing Minnesota-run company called Surrender Salmon! And no, I’m not being paid for today’s post — I just love my local MN companies that are doing good in the community. I want my name all over that shit 😀
We met with the Surrender Salmon founder, Grant Niver, at one of our favorite coffee shops in the North Loop a few years ago. He is an Alaskan born man now living in Minneapolis running Surrender Salmon on the side. Grant, his brothers, and his dad are actually the fishermen catching this amazing wild Alaskan salmon and bringing it over to Minnesota. I want to stress WILD because most salmon (even “organic”) is still farm raised.
Benefits of Salmon
Wild salmon is rich in calcium, omega-3 fatty acids, and DHA. What I love about Surrender Salmon is that they’re taking out the middle man. It’s fishermen selling directly to us. Not to mention it’s some of the most amazing salmon I’ve ever tasted!
Grant explained to us why his salmon doesn’t have that fishy smell or taste and it’s because they bleed the fish right away and place it directly in a refrigerator on the boat after it’s caught. Then, they flash freeze and vacuum seal it!
How to Make Honey Sriracha Salmon
Typically when I’m making salmon, I like to pat out some of the moisture (see above photo). For this recipe, all you need is Fit Foodie Finds’ famous honey sriracha sauce (honey + sriracha + tamari).
Mix up your sauce and then spread it right on top, making sure you wipe up what gets on the pan because you’ll be using the broil setting on your oven and don’t want this extra sauce to burn!
The broiler in your oven is about to be your best friend because this sriracha salmon is done in 8 minutes. 8 MINUTES. Just make sure your broiler is on high and preheated before you place your honey sriracha salmon in the oven.
And that’s seriously it! In only 8 minutes, you’ll have the most flakey and delicious salmon. We served ours with some white sticky rice and Asian green beans. YES TO THE PLEASE. Enjoy!

It turned out delicious thanks for this recipe
Hi I made my dish and it ended up like this. I don’t know if I have to work more on the presentation
Beautiful salmon!
So quick and easy! I used chili garlic sauce instead of sriracha (didn’t have any), added minced garlic and a couple of tablespoons of a garlic honey rub. I probably should have taken it out at 6 minutes, my broiler is really hot, but it was still delish. Hubby enjoyed it and will definitely make it again

I legit have been cooking salmon wrong all along! 8 minutes? Talk about a great quick weeknight meal!
8 MINUTES.
This is awesome, Lee! I’m always so intimidated by salmon (I don’t know why lol), but this is super easy and straight forward. Thanks for sharing!
8 minutes?! #sold And how cool is that that you know who caught the fish?! I just really love that.
This is the quickest recipe ever and I love that. I am SUCH a whimp when it comes to spicy, but I think the honey would really tone this down for me. Sounds delicious!
I need to get my hands on some good quality salmon. I wish I was closer to Minnesota! Also, I feel like I always end up overcooking my salmon. I’m excited to try this broil method.
You’re going to LOVE the broil method!!! Perfect every time.
Hi Lee, you might want to look at the nutrition facts typing error! Somehow I think the numbers you wrote on your testing site got morphed into symbols on your public site. Can’t wait to try!
Hi Laura! Yes, we are working on it 🙂
My FAVE fish ever. This looks insanely good!!!
