What is in chai spice?
How much chai spice should I use in chai tea?
Per 1 cup of water/milk, we recommend using 1 teaspoon of chai spices + 1 black tea bag to make chai tea. Check out our chai tea latte recipe.
What do these chai spices taste like?
This chai spice mix is on the spicier side. We like our chai with a bite rather than a sweet spice mix so we added a little extra ground ginger. If you love yourself a sweet chai, try taking out some ginger and adding more cinnamon or even a teaspoon of coconut sugar or brown sugar. Have no shame either way. The taste buds want, what the taste buds want. DO YOU FEEL ME?
We love mixing up our own chai spices so that we have chai spice ready in the pantry whenever we’re craving a chai tea latte or one of our favorite Fit Foodie Finds chai recipes. Yes, we have a bunch! Check them out.

This spice blend is so good! I use it in a ton of baked goods.
Hi Lee,
love your idea for grounding the spices. I know about the these spices and I love a strong tasty
Chai any time of the day but it’s so difficult to boil all the spices together for a while and wait to
enjoy a cup of chai but with your idea, I can have it anytime and with the almond milk version looking forward to making that. So thank you very much! Love #fitfoodiefinds!!
How much per cup of tea? Does it leave a sediment or should it be filtered?

This will be my second time making this. I love putting a dash in my coffee every morning. At some point, I’d love to make a cake and add this to it. Really great recipe, I love it.
Well, it smells delicious! Novice at the whole Chai thing. How much of the mix do I add to what type of liquid? Milk, water, coconut milk?

Thank you! Yes delicious and American we are a melting pot! These spices have health benefits and so yummy!
I made the mix, now how do I actually use it?
You can use it in baked goods, in hot chocolate, in oatmeal, etc!
Delicious! I think that I had been missing the ginger previously. I make a drink from milk, honey and this spice! Thank you!
Hilarious or perhaps sad that you consider this to be “American” cuisine.
OMG, thank you! I have been wanting to make my own for so long and it is also so fascinating to see what makes up this delicious concoction!
I’m looking to flavor Kombucha any ideas on how much you would add to say a 16oz second fermentation or for flavoring tea?
Hi! I used this chai spice in cookies, but I was wondering if you have a recipe for a chai latte or chai tea.
I would simply dissolve around 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of this seasoning into your hot milk of choice! You can also add a shot of espresso, too!
Ahh I made the mix and now don’t see anywhere how much to use if I want to make a chai latte. Help!
If you’re making it for 1 person, I’d start with 1/2 teaspoon!
On the very top picture you have a spice labeled nutmeg. It’s not on the recipe though. Just wondering if you left it out accidentally?
I’d love to know the answer as well!
Nutmeg is in allspice
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allspice Allspice is a plant not a spice blend. Allspice and nutmeg are from different plants.
Funny, I was just think8ng about nutmeg too, as I was writing down the ingredients. I keep making this over and over again to put in my coffee eveey day and either was it’s delicious.
It’s the third spice listed on the recipe and it’s 2 tsp
