It’s hard to find ranch dressing without a long list of ingredients. This recipe will show you how to make Healthy Homemade Ranch Dressing with a clean ingredient list, so you’ll never have to go to the grocery store for dressing again!

If you’re a sauce girl, raise your hand! ME TOO. I love hoisin smothered all over my buddha bowls, hummus all over my veggies, and of course, secret sauce (Franks + Greek Yogurt). The more sauce the better, do you feel me? Though I love all the sauce I can get, it seems like store-bought dressings and sauces are all packed with sugar and a super long ingredient list. Yes, there are so many more options today than there were in the past, but I’ve come to the conclusion that making a homemade dressing or a sauce is always the way to go. Especially when it’s easy to make.
RANCH, it’s a dressing that is generally associated with crunchy salads and carrots. When I close my eyes and think back to growing up with Wisconsin, I can just smell the tangy scent of Hidden Valley Ranch. It was always being smothered on top of an iceberg lettuce salads that you ordered before your Friday night fish fry…because that’s what you do on Friday nights in Wisconsin.
I’m usually a vinaigrette girl, but I found myself craving ranch with my salad the other day and didn’t have any in my fridge. SO, we decided we would play with a recipe. GUESS WHAT, we had all the ingredients we needed in my pantry + fridge. It was a sign from the Ranch Gods. So, what do you need for our homemade ranch dressing recipe? Check it:

How to Make Homemade Ranch Dressing
Ranch is typically made with mayonnaise and buttermilk, but we kept things on the lighter side and used nonfat Greek yogurt. The spice mix is really what makes ranch…ranch, in my opinion, and we nailed it in this healthy ranch dressing recipe! The combination of parsley, dill, chives, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and sea salt makes for the just-right ranch flavoring you know and love.
And seriously, all you have to do is throw everything in a food processor and BOOM homemade ranch dressing. Whether you like ranch on a salad or with your pizza, this homemade ranch dressing recipe will not disappoint. It will keep in an air-tight container in your fridge for a week, but we’re betting it will be gone before the week is up 😀

Might there be a substitute for the chives? I dont have any
And would sour cream work in place of greek yogurt?
Made a chicken chili recipe that called for a ranch packet. Made this recipe instead and worked out perfect. Made another batch for plain salad dressing. Measurements are great for one person.
The dressing was very tart and to much pepper for me. Let is sit for a while thinking the flavors of the dried herbs would mellow the tartness but that didn’t happen. This dressing was a miss for me.
same. I feel like it needs some adjustments next time. maybe less garlic and pepper. not sure.
Overall, it’s very good. Initially, it was a bit too tangy for me so I cut back on the lemon juice and now it’s perfect!
I’m not sure of fairness for this recipe, i can barely eat it the greek yogurt tang is sooo strong, i can’t take it – hated it on salad, but I think it could be better with raw veggies dipped in, so I will try that with the remainder. I’m sure this dressing is fine if you like the greek yogurt, i wish there was a way to tame it down though. I used Fage 2% which i thought was supposed to be one of the least tangy of the greeks, sooo, I can’t imagine with another brand.
You can use raw cashews and unsweetened almond milk instead of Greek yogurt.
So i want to be healthy but between good BMI, bloodwork results excellent and lots of exercise, i had to tweet the recipe a tad. I used freshness garlic, some scallions, fresh dill and on top of the yogurt, i used 2 tblsp of real mayo. It was a def improvement. Also used a pinch of red pepper for a touch of heat.
I eat ranch like its going out of style.. so I love this! definitely making this soon!
What can you substitute for the rice vinegar?
Any other kind of vinegar!
Swapped out the dry herbs for fresh and have healthy Green Goddess/Ranch/Awesomeness
Classic Minnesotan over here that puts ranch on EVERYTHING. Lol this is SO much better than Hidden Valley!!
Ohhhhhhhhh you. Everyone in MN eats pizza and ranch, it’s bizarre and now I do it.
Wow!
It looks so good! Many ‘”likes” from me!
How long will it keep?
I would like to second this question!
I would say around 5 days in the fridge! This isn’t a shelf-stable ranch like you would get at the store <3
I definitely need to make this for the hubs! He is ranch-OBSESSED!!
YAS!!!
Looks so good!
